One of the most adventarous thing I have done is to sail on a small fishermen boat from Cebu to Bantaynan island during a storm. I thought our boat would sink several times. And it almost did. When we arrived on the beach we embraced the wam golden sand and watched the sunset, which was as if the ocean itself was set on fire. When the last drops of sun had dissappeared, millions of sparkling stars took over the sky. We watched the stars while drinking a chilled beer.
I like stars. They create an illusion of permanence. When you are watching them, you can pretend that worlds and things can last. That lives can last longer than moments. However, worlds do not last, and stars they sparkle and then vanish into the emptiness, as moments. But at least when staring at them, you can pretend.
